The founder of Custemized Sneaks, Temima Brandes began painting as an exercise for stress and anxiety relief in mid-2020 during the Coronavirus pandemic. Unsatisfied with mass-produced designs when shopping for sneakers, she decided to make a pair with her own design. She took her newfound painting skills and customized a newly-bought pair of sneakers. She found it very rewarding to express her artistic creativity in a highly personalized manner on a pair of her own sneakers. Friends and even strangers noticed her unique creation, querying where she obtained such stylish footwear. It dawned on Temima that she could take this new-found outlet to discover and represent others’ creative designs for their footwear needs. This grew from a simple creative outlet based on growing demand. In early 2021 Temima operationalized Custemized Sneaks on social media to market her customization service for footwear. By mid-2021 Custemized Sneaks began selling its services and products throughout the United States.
